Journey Gift Voucher

These journeys to the epicenters of North Carolina’s local food culture consist of 2.5 days of transformational experiences with the brother/sisterhoods of local celebrated chefs and the small farmers they trust. These chefs will share with you the delectable ways in which they prepare fresh ingredients from nearby farms, and then you will have hands-on experiences with the farmers that dedicate their lives to growing fresh and delicious ingredients for those chefs.

The journeys begin on a Friday evening with an informal chat with a local foods ambassador while you walk to dinner at a select restaurant.  In this meal, the Chefs will delight you with their signature dishes including fresh ingredients from the local farm you will visit the following day.

Saturday will begin with a hands-on experience at a local garden where you will explore a few farming tricks with your host farmer.  You will then pick fresh ripe produce to add to a light lunch at the farm prepared by a local chef.  In the afternoon we’ll direct you to another farm, where you will get a tour and will help her tend to micro-greens that will be supplied for your dinner.

In the evening you will meet your local foods ambassador again to debrief your day and to walk you to dinner at another special local restaurant.  In this meal, you will sample a variety of his signature dishes.

On Sunday morning you will meet another local farmer to experience first hand the passion and meticulous detail he invests in growing the fresh vegetables and small stock he supplies to select local chefs.

Your journey will end with an indulgent brunch, in time to make it back home transformed and replenished, or to continue your exploration of the region.

We will mail a voucher to you or the gift recipient. The voucher holder will be able to choose from several farm and restaurant pairings.
